a new product within Urenco.
The Senior R&D Manager Depleted Uranium has the responsibility to manage and develop Depleted Uranium related technology and knowledge within Urenco in order to ensure safe and economic design and operation of facilities in compliance with regulatory requirements. To manage Depleted Uranium R&D activities and projects and provide ad-hoc support, as the best-skilled expert for the product line and to support the product line Lead in running the associated technology and processes, building the requisite capabilities and knowledge.
The main areas of responsibility will include:
-Support the identification of new project opportunities for the Depleted Uranium product line. Execute the planning, mobilisation and delivery of R&D projects, in line with agreed scope, timeframes, budgets and service levels
-Lead technology assessment exercises for the product line and assess the TRL for projects. Act as the Urenco expert for the product line's technology and provide advice to the Head of R&D and the wider Urenco organisation
-Perform technical assessments of projects and provide inputs to the product line Lead to facilitate project prioritization
-Document and hand-over results of R&D projects to customer or other stakeholders. Feed into wider R&D reporting. Manage all project stakeholders and support wider stakeholder management for the product line
-Manage personal development as required to support R&D activities. Facilitate information exchange amongst relevant experts in the Group
-Screen new external technological developments for their relevance and potential application for the Depleted Uranium product line
-Consider, identify and capture IP that arises from any R&D activities undertaken
-Support the R&D budget process, providing inputs for respective projects
-Provide guidance and support to team members in the product line
We are now looking for an individual who can make a difference and add value to our existing Team. The following skills and experience will provide an indication of the types of Team Players we are looking for:
•Masters or equivalent degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, preferably PhD
•Competent in structuring, budgeting executing and reporting R&D and qualification programs
•Experience of coordinating teams to deliver R&D projects across international boundaries
•Expertise in selecting the right technology for major projects, to satisfy technical, commercial and customer requirements using a robust methodology
•Experience in building R&D capabilities spanning people, processes and technology
This is a permanent, full-time, role to be based in Gronau or Almelo.
