The main areas of responsibility will include:
To manage specific CE&I R&D activities and projects, providing support to the running of associated technology and processes, building the requisite capabilities and knowledge
Execute the planning, mobilisation and delivery of R&D projects, in line with agreed scope, timeframes, budgets and service levels
Support the identification of new project opportunities for this area of competence.
Assist technical assessments of projects and provide inputs to facilitate project prioritization
Act as focal point for SMEs on site - a skilled expert in the Group for this competence. Leverage a detailed understanding of the operation in the specialist area to identify improvement opportunities
Support technology assessment exercises for this area of competence and assess the TRL for projects. Support Asset Management in technical audits. Act as the Urenco expert for this competence's technology and provide advice to the Head of R&D and the wider Urenco organisation
Document and hand-over results of R&D projects to customer or other stakeholders. Feed into wider R&D reporting. Manage all project stakeholders and support wider stakeholder management for this competence
Support Commodity team activities and supplier audits
Manage personal development as required to support R&D activities. Facilitate information exchange amongst SMEs in the Group
Screen new external technological developments for their relevance and potential application for the respective competence
Consider IP that arises from any R&D activities undertaken
Support the R&D budget process, providing inputs for respective projects
Provide guidance and support to team members in the product line
We are now looking for an individual who can make a difference and add value to our existing Team. The following skills and experience will provide an indication of the types of Team Players we are looking for:
Masters or equivalent degree in Engineering with specialism in Control/Electrical/Instrumentation
Ideally heavy/process/chemical industry background and good understanding of its safety and regulatory environment, preferably with nuclear experience
Familiar with structuring, budgeting executing and reporting R&D and qualification programs
Good stakeholder management & communication skills, ability to work with and communicate clearly to a wide audience including technical & non-technical individuals
Ability and acumen to successfully participate in International R&D teams
Breadth of knowledge to enable them to select the right technology for major projects, to satisfy technical, commercial and customer requirements using a robust methodology
