As part of the organizational change of UTD this role offers a great opportunity to grow with the business and to participate in starting up the development
of a new product within Urenco - Ensuring sustainable capabilities long term to design and engineer new plants for future business by managing training and education programs, and defining succession planning schedule etc.

The Depleted Uranium Lab Manager will manage the Depleted Uranium Test Facility, leading the design and execution of experimental programmes, the development and upkeep of lab facilities & associated know-how and the supervision of the Lab Operator.

The main areas of responsibility will include:
•Translate the scientific programmes supplied by the R&D managers into an experimental programme. Develop and manage project plans for the implementation of experimental programmes and ensure these are executed on time, efficiently, safely and to high quality
•Ensure that all documents are in place as necessary in support of the experimental programme, working closely with the R&D manager and safety engineer and local stakeholders. Report on progress and provide tests results to R&D managers
•Ensure that the lab equipment is regularly maintained, meeting state-of-the art technologies and the requirements for the planned test programs.
•Ensure that all activities in the lab are executed safely and in line with applicable regulations, policies, procedures and standards, working closely with the R&D Safety Case Engineer and local stakeholders and ensure that all equipment in the lab is maintained to an acceptable standard, meeting applicable regulations
•Manage the know-how for test equipment and collate the know-how gathered during testing, making this accessible to all relevant stakeholders. Advise the product line Lead on the Lab Operator's requisite skills and experience
•Ensure that new external technological developments are assessed for their relevance and potential application in the lab

We are now looking for an individual who can make a difference and add value to our existing Team, the following skills and experience will provide an indication of the types of Team Players we are looking for:

•Masters or equivalent degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Physics
•Several years of professional experience, ideally in plant design, engineering and construction
•Experience in maintaining and managing change for test facilities, to keep them operational, in line with required regulations and standards
•Experience in coordinating activities across different teams

This is a permanent, full-time, role to be based in Almelo
