Urenco’s project portfolio consists of work on both existing technically complex assets on our operating sites and the creation significant new facilities the size of this projects range from £1m to £1bn. This wide range of work provides the opportunities for a wide range of
personnel together with the opportunity to develop your skills and experience in an environment where development is not just encouraged it’s expected.  

Available Opportunities

We are seeking to significantly increase Urenco’s internal capabilities to support all types of projects and therefore have a number of roles available across several locations.  We are also willing to cross train people were required to cover any gaps in their current capabilities so you do not need to be 100% match with the role description to make it worth applying.

The following are a list of the roles we are looking for:

Project Controller

To provide professional project controls (scheduling and cost control) support to Project Managers to ensure that their projects accurately understand and report their current progress, spends and commitment against their approved project baseline, in line with group project management procedures. The position covers the full project lifecycle from project set up / initiation, through to project delivery stages and closure.

Lead Project Controller

This role will provides project controls support across a portfolio of projects or at business level will be based at an operational site and covering a business area(s).  In additional to delivering direct support the Lead Project Controller will act as the key interface to the customer and will direct the other members of the local Project Support team. 

Project Cost Estimator

This role is focused on the production of project baseline estimates that fully reflect the projects approach and provide the means against which project costs can be monitored.  They will also provide subject matter expertise, consulting and advice directly to Project Managers.

Project Planner

This role provides professional planning support and subject matter advice to Project Managers to develop or modify the project baseline schedule ensuring that this plan accurately reflect the projects approach and provides the means to monitor project progress in line with group project management procedures.

The position covers the full project lifecycle from project set up / initiation, through to project delivery stages and closure.

Project Construction Manager

This role will shape a new project construction management capability for Urenco Group’s global portfolio of small and medium projects
accumulating up to €100 million annual CAPEX and select projects ranging from €50 million to in excess of €500 million. Reporting to the Director, Group Projects the position will be accountable for the development and management of a project construction management function for all Urenco sites.
 

The Project Construction Manager will bring good practice methodologies to develop a multi-national project construction management function, they will also drive improvements to project delivery through constructability, integration of construction into engineering
processes and construction management. They will independently assess contractors’ construction management processes and develop, transfer and retain good practice construction knowledge to promote continuous improvement in the project portfolio.

      
Project Engineer

Reporting to the Manager of Project Engineering, this role will be accountable for ensuring project requirements or aspects of project requirements are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standard.  The position has responsibility for the management all of the requirements and technical activities for a given project or project scope, and assuring project accuracy, quality and cost control from conception to completion.

    
Project Engineering Manager

Reporting to the Manager of Project Engineering this role will be accountable for ensuring engineering resource and capability assigned to deliver capital projects are technically fit for purpose and meet the statutory requirements. The main areas of responsibility will include planning and directing all design and technical resources working on specific projects, and managing the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex designs.


Project Resource Planning Manager

Reporting to the Manager of Project System, the role will lead and ensure adequate and consistent standards in project resource planning in Urenco’s project portfolio and be a key member of the Group Projects department. They will have accountability for the project resource planning standards and ensure alignment between these and the business objectives. They will also maintain an overview of subject matter expert’s skills and competencies and ensure development of project support resources both contract and staff.
